Our dear fellowship
The location of our church office means I have the joy of observing the development of the new church building almost on a daily basis. The demolition is complete and the ground work has begun. Before any structure above ground level can be built the foundations have to be laid. It is necessary to bore down to solid rock in order to erect the steel framework that will hold up the building for the length of its life.
In our bible study I spoke of the three pillars that hold up our walk with God. The pillars I refer to are:
These three pillars are always the first to be removed when we begin to deviate from the pathway the Lord would have us walk. Jesus uses these means to dig down deeply in our lives to ensure that He is the solid foundation rock upon which our lives are built.
There is a lot of noise, dust and disruption when a new building is underway. Sue at the office said, ‘there is also a lot of pain for the people near it.' How true that is. When the Lord is working deep within us, sometimes the people near us also bear the affects. The Lord gives us grace to bear with each other and remain faithful to God and to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We know that the Lord is not only developing a new building, He is also developing us. I pray we will all keep Jesus as the rock solid foundation of our lives and that we will make sure the pillars are kept in place to hold us in a right place with God and with each other.
Keep faithful and strong in the Lord.
Yours in the love of Christ
