Our dear fellowship

At the heart of the Christian message is the call to live a selfless life of service to God. So much of what is presented to the world as Christianity is not in keeping with the nature and attitude of Christ who is our example. He left the glory of heaven, became a man and took on the role of a servant. He had every right to the highest place of honour but willingly chose the humble path of obedience to the Father which included death on a cross.

We are called to live a selfless life

Philippians 2 v 1-11 instructs us to have the same attitude of heart and mind as Jesus. We must have the same love, spirit and purpose not thinking of ourselves only, but also of the interests of others. In the Church we must operate with the nature of Jesus.

We are called to selfless giving

What an awesome example Jesus uses in Luke 21 v 1-4. Many people gave out of their wealth. The widow Jesus spoke of gave out of her poverty and put into the Temple treasury all she had to live on; two very small coins. Jesus was looking at the size of her offering. What a true example of faith in God.

May we also serve the Lord in selfless living and selfless giving to the glory of God. May this month of March be used in true service to God and each other.
